This is how I normally begin. Pergaminata taped to the basckside of a block. I then sketch of the scroll, in this case I want to have the head from the label of an Jaegermeister bottle, different kinds of illuminations is also included. |

You have to sketch a lot to make it loook wrighte. Then the bigger parts are painted. |
